Giovanni Rigato
Born
in Bolzano, Italy, Giovanni Rigato was trained in the classic continental
style, working in such locales as Italy and Switzerland. In the
late 1970’s, Giovanni arrived in the United States, quickly
setting a new standard for imaginative and innovative dining.
Chef
Rigato introduced himself to Baltimore’s Little Italy as the
owner and chef of Capriccio. After a 10 year stand, he and his family
took a brief respite in Ireland. Upon his 1992 return, Giovanni
established Boccaccio.
Now he is joined by his daughter, Chef
Marlena Rigato, herself, professionally trained at Le Cordon
Bleu Culinary Institute in London. Together, they offer both modern
and classic interpretations of regional Italian cuisine. |
